Archking likes Fireside, it has a trendy feel on one side with couch's and stuff and a pub feel on the other end to attract all type of croud. Drink menu is amazing specially if you are up for a Martini "best in Halifax". Weeekends are very busy at this place. Ending remarks : cool, nice ambience, good price. "Bang for the buck"
A nice place for after work dinner and drinks with co-workers or a date. Martinis are fab, and the raspberry kuchen is delicious.
The Tex Mex nachos are where it is at!!! The food selection is limited however everything taste great.
Great food and martinis. Sit by the fireside and hangout with friends drinking cocktails in downtown halifax. Martini menus and pricing of drinks is reasonable. Martinis on Monday cost about $4.50.
Fireside is a great martini bar; Monday being their Martini night (well actually Monday is martini night everywhere in Halifax).
It might seem like a small place when you enter, but there's a second floor and a hidden room behind the bar. So even though the place might look full, you should still be able to find a spot.
Fireside is a very comfortable place to eat or just go for a few drinks with friends. The service and food are good as well. As far as martinis go, they are pretty good and one of the cheapest places to get martinis on Monday nights. Beware though, it usually gets really busy and early too on "Martini Mondays" so get there early if you want a seat.
The Fireside is one of the coziest restaurants in the city. In addition to the pub-style tables and fireplaces on the main level, the upstairs level is more open, with big comfy booths and couches. In my opinion, they make the best martinis in the city. The food menu hasn't changed in years, and although it's very good, it would be nice to see something a little different from time to time.
