Here is a quick update on Adam Tenwolde. You'll remember that GenieKnows sponsored Adam to compete in a series of paddling events in the summer and fall this year.
This past week he competed in Toronto, racing in the 'Mazda Knockout' paddling races and was featured live on CBC Sports.
Adam also competed at Nationals two weeks ago and did extremely well. Here are the events in which he competed; K1 juvenile 1000M - placed 1st, K1 juvenile 500M - placed 1st, K1 juvenile 200M - placed 1st, K4 juvenile 1000M - placed 1st.

For Adam, the big thrill during Nationals was winning the 200M K1 event - which was renamed the 'Mike Schaus' trophy. Mike Schaus was a paddler out of Banook (Dartmouth), who sadly passed away in February 2009. Adam had made plans to train with Mike in Florida, and upon his death, Canoe Kayak Canada graciously renamed the 200M K1 event in his honor. Adam hoped that he would be the first paddler to win the trophy, which he did by just 0.1 second (see photo).
Adam left for Portugal this past the weekend where he will soon compete at the 2009 World Championships (Sept. 18 - 20) in Crestuma.
Many thanks to John Tenwolde (Adams Dad) for the regular updates and photographs. We are very proud to support Adam’s sporting achievements.
