Our tradition of supporting grass roots athletes is set to continue with the sponsorship of Adam Tenwolde - a local K1 Paddler from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
During the past year, Adam (now aged 17) was the top junior paddler in K1 in Canada for 500m and 1000m.
This week (August 25th, 2009) Adam won a bronze medal in the K-2 500m event at the Canada Games, in Prince Edwards Island.
This past July/August at the World Junior Championships in Moscow, Adam finished an impressive 9th in K4 along-with Marc-Alexandre Gagnon and Alex Tessier (both of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec) and Nathan Barton (Stittsville, Ont.)
In 2006 he was the top bantam paddler in Atlantic Canada progressing to being the top midget paddler in Canada for K1 1000m in 2008. In September 2009, Adam will try to hold onto his Junior #1 ranking at the Canadian National Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec and later in the month he will compete at the 2009 World Championships (Sept. 18 - 20) in Crestuma, Portugal.
We are extremely proud that the GenieKnows.com name is associated with Adam and wish him and his family the very best of luck as he prepares for these important events.
